Adan is a Puerto Rican boy living in New York. The rain in New York is not fun, but on his first trip to Puerto Rico, Adan yagua days and how the rain makes for belly-flopping fun.

This Spanish-word loaded story tells of a boy who has only hints of his Puerto Rican heritage until he goes to Puerto Rico to visit his relatives. There he learns where the fruits in his bodega come from, and learns about something that is hinted at in the book- Yagua days. When it rains, his family slides on Yagua palm fronds down the bank and into the river.
