Hans Roger Madol (1903–1956)

I'm not very impressed with this book, but it is one that plays on the resemblances between Godoy, and Mussolini, another man who took control of a country from its hereditary Monarch. There is a wealth of anecdotal details and a few black and white reproductions of Goya paintings. The political details of the end of the reigns of the spanish Bourbons and of Manuel Godoy are covered in detail. Overall Nina Epton's book covering these people and their struggles is better.
