A Wedding in the Sun was a quick and enjoyable read. I really liked both of the main characters, who felt so imperfectly human. While they are going through some incredibly difficult situations and are understandably stressed, over time they are both able to admit to their flaws and accept each other as they are. Both characters go through a lot of growth as they process the grief from their previous marriages ending. Despite so many things going wrong on their journey, there’s also a sense of optimism about the positive experiences they wouldn't have had otherwise. I loved the adventure of the road trip, from the Pyrenees mountains to the beaches of Spain.

A Wedding in the Sun is a perfectly delightful book about Jo and Adrián whose exes are getting married to each other. Although they know one another, they are basically only acquaintances. Jo's impression is not that great to begin with and seeing Adrián argue with the desk clerk at the airport didn't exactly help her impression. As luck would have it, they are on the same flight and have to acknowledge one another. Also, as luck would have it, the plane has to land unexpectedly and Jo and Adrián join forces to try to get to their children who are already with their exes at the destination wedding venue in Spain. Their trip is filled with anything but luck and only one bed. There is one crisis after another. This book is written so well that even though all the stuff that happens to them is pretty unbelievable, you believe it anyway. I am not one for insta love, but I did enjoy this. These characters are older and dealing with a grief of sorts as they watch their former partners go on with their lives. I loved the road trip setting as they traveled through France and Spain over the Pyrenees Mountains. Adrián's character while described as grumpy at first is actually quite adorable. His ex-wife missed out! I hope romance lovers who enjoy older characters will check this book out.

My sincere thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read A Wedding in the Sun. I have given my unbiased opinion of it in this short review.

At first look, Jenn and Tiziano could not seem more different. She’s a closed off and career driven. He’s laid back without a plan or care for the future. Different lifestyles, different cultures and goals. But I felt the mounting chemistry between them until I couldn’t see anything other than the two of them together forever.

This is the fourth book I’ve read by Leonie Mack, and it absolutely cements her as a “must read” for me. She has a gift for immersing readers in each setting of her stories. She elicits all the laughter and angst you expect from a good romance. I loved this glimpse into the Italian country living and the world of prosecco.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this complimentary ARC. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The book is emotional and inspiring. I like how fierce Norah is and how despite how much she’s lost, she comes out stronger. I hate Manu’s character. Sure, I feel pity for her at times but she will never be a good character in my opinion. Towards the end, when she apologizes and accepts what she’d done to keep Norah and Gianluca away, I was furious, and no matter how much remorse she carried, it’d be stupid to forget that she had, indeed, used everyone, even if she thought it was for a noble cause, which let’s be honest, it wasn't. I feel proud of Gianluca for leaving his insecurities apart but the story didn’t pique my interest as much as I’d hoped it would. The scenery of Venice was beautifully described, though in excessive detail, which made me want to stop reading. Along with the few moments where they were alone, I would’ve loved to read Norah and Gianluca’s interactions where they were more honest with each other. The book is a fair read though, and I would recommend it to those who like a summer romance turned love (along with a particular grand track down, if I may).… (altro)
