Um, does anyone else see how this story is strikingly similar to the scene in Sleeping Beauty where the fairies are getting ready for Rose's birthday? They each take on a task that they're not good at and screw it up pretty bad, which is exactly what happens in this book.

Anywhooty, I kind of like how intricate and gravity-defying the illustrations of the princesses are, but I think it's weird that the title is "Princesses Are Not Perfect," when the refrain in the text is, "Princess are not good at everything."

A fun bedtime story about a boy whos Grandma gets everything he needs for a sleepover. The sassy grandma is as funny as she is resourceful. Students may relate the story if they have ever had a sleepover before and can be asked to write a story about a time they have slept over somewhere.

42 months - this was a cute book and then when we watched the Disney Sleeping Beauty I recognized the a similar story line when the fairies decide to switch up who makes the cake, the dress etc. an everything goes wrong until at last they switch jobs again.

This book is a wonderful fairytale, all about three princesses who each have one specialty, baking, woodshop, or gardening, and one day they decide that since "princesses are good at everything" they should just switch jobs for the fun of it, which turns out to be a big mistake. They learn that princesses are NOT perfect, but good at doing what they love. This would be a great book for little girls during their "princess stage" in early elementary school.

This is a funny look at a young boy who stays the night with his grandmother, only she isn't prepared. And her attempts to remedy this are very over-the-top and unnecessary. Children find this story very humorous.

This book could be used to practice making predictions, as my four year old was able to use the clues in the story to predict what was about to happen, so even children who are not strong readers can access this lesson through listening.

Patrick has gone to his Granny's house for his first sleepover. When she asks him to get ready for bed he points out the things that he is missing, such as a bed, a pillow, a blanket and a teddy bear. Each time Granny says "What?" and runs to make him the thing that he is missing. But Granny does not merely find him a bed, she cuts down a tree, makes the bed and paints it. Each time Granny faces a problem she finds an over-the-top solution. Bright cartoonish illustrations add to the fun. Children aged 3-6 will love this book which would also make a great read aloud.

Granny tells her grandson to go to bed, only for him to tell her he doesn't have a bed at her house!

A clever twist to the first sleepover that all parents and grandparents can relate to and children love. A great book to read aloud, this story immediately became a favorite with my kids - both students at school and my own at home!

This is a great book for younger girls. It teaches a great lesson that while you are good at certain things others may not be and that is okay. It would be good for the girls to read and understand that everyone is good at different activities and have them write about what they are good at and what they could improve. I think this would be a great concept for self confidence as they are getting into upper elementary and concerned about there self images and what people think of them.

This book is a good example of fantasy because it takes place in a realistic setting and time, but then takes place in a made up kingdom where the princesses make royal decrees that make it unrealistic.
