A great fantasy book.
Well written science fiction / fantasy with magic and an intriguing plot. Roan needs to get out of a brutal militaristic government yet overcome discrimination for being a magic user. Second chances abound for Roan, his first love Jace, and Jace's wife Cayra.
This book starts REALLY slow. Just as I was thinking how much I wanted this to be over, it sucked me in. The story ended up being incredible. Now I have to go find others by this author.
