Char is your classic type A - lots of lists and elaborate plans. As we get to know her through the course of the novel, it is clear that some of that obsessiveness is Char's way of having some control over her life when she can't really rely on her parents at all. Char also has an on-going feud with JT, a popular boy at her school. When they find themselves flung into the future and have to figure out how to get back to their own time, Char begins to see that what she thought was true maybe wasn't really so. I liked the slow reveal of character, the exploration of friendship and family, and the ending feels very affirming.… (altro)
