Mark Lareau

This is a terrific book for anyone wanting to get started in wire-wrapping. There is lots of information about supplies, and also step-by-step tutorials for doing some of the basic design elements (something most other books on the subject that I've read seem to neglect to include). There aren't as many projects here as in some other books, but the tutorials make up for that. I wouldn't mind owning a copy of this.

Good for beginners. I found most of the material covered in this book readily available for no cost on the internet. The drawings were somewhat helpful but nothing amazing. Had hoped for more advanced techniques and projects.

A bit too basic for me at this stage, although I did like the world's strongest clasp design and have used it a couple of times for my heavier pieces. The pen drawings of techniques are a bit dated and the instrucitons seem needlessly wordy; I have to read them several times before I can perform the technique described. A beginner with good visualization skills will probably be a good fit for this book.

Great book for the aspiring metal smith. The author shows the detailed steps required for basic metal work. The photos and instructions are clear and thorough. Excellent book for those considering this form of jewelry making.
