You know those great movie novelizations that expand upon the plot and action of your favorite films and give you further insight into the characters' feelings and motivations? This isn't one of them. This is essentially the script for Noah with all the important plot development scenes taken out because it's told from the viewpoint of a secondary character. The only reason I give it two stars is because I love the movie. I plan on reading the regular adult movie novelization, too. Hopefully it's better than this seemingly slapped-together-at-the-last-minute version.… (altro)

Little Kid Reaction: My kids have watched Sid the Science Kid several times, so they are familiar with this character and his personality. They liked the book and enjoyed learning about the melting-freezing process. They asked, so we read it several times.

Big Kid Reaction: I liked the book, but I am a science nut so it is easy to make me happy when science is involved. If you are familiar with the TV show, this is a great way to reinforce the concepts without watching more TV than necessary. Children who have seen the TV show will be more familiar with the layout of the storyline, but this book could definitely be read, understood and enjoyed by those who have NOT seen the TV series.
