In 1260, only a few years before Ottokar II, King of Bohemia, would lose his life and kingdom in the battle of Dürnkrut in the Marchfeld to the Habsburgs, the Marchfeld served as the location for another clash, this time between the Hungarians and the Bohemians (supported by the locals, the "Austrians"). In 1260, in a confused bloody action the Bohemians checked the Hungarian ambitions in expanding their river crossing. Given the paucity of the medieval sources, this short account covers this forgotten encounter well.
