Given the title, I wish there were more discussion of technique and fewer patterns. The patterns inevitably become dated, so it would make more sense to devote more time to technique. Still a helpful book, but it's hard to imagine some of these designs outside of a hideous 80s boxy sweater context.

Tough to find, this reference details how to convert hand knitted lace patterns to machine knitting by a well-known expert in the field.
