this is folktale/mythology book and had everything you need to know about fairies. The illustrations really brought the tales to real life.

About the first Muslim, Muhammad. Qur'an written 20 years after his death. Good: “Nobody feels too proud to receive zakat, for the Qur'an teaches that all wealth really belongs to God anyway, so it should be shared fairly. A World of Holidays series. Written by a non-Muslim.

Endearing collection of cherished stories for all ages. For anyone who ever loved a story about these fantasy creatures, you'll love this book. Great to share with those who still have an imagination. I loved the additional information at the back of the book to read separately from the stories. The illustrations were lovely and added to the book. The wealth of additional information and where to find it makes this one shine above the others. Very well done.

Disclaimer: I received this book free from Anova Books in exchange for an honest review. I did not receive any form of compensation.

Not only does this book contain quaint tales from all over Britain, but it contains little tidbits of knowledge as well.

It is so hard to determine which story was my favorite. I loved them all. The stories told in this book are all retellings of old stories that had been passed along for ages.

As for the tidbits of information, these are all gleaned from the various tellings and lore from around Great Britain. There is a section that lists the various tribes of Faeries, Elves and Goblins as they are known in each area of Great Britain. Such as Tylwyth Teg of Wales or the Ferrishyn of the Isle of Man. Plus by reading the information, you can also learn how to attract the fae folk that you would like while avoiding the more mischievous of the bunch.

Not only is this a wonderful book of tales that you can tell the children in your life, but this is a wonderful book for anyone who wants to work with the fae in their magickal dealings.

A fantastic little book of folk tales, and a very interesting read. Featuring local landmarks and quirky ancient beliefs, it makes you want to go an investigate for yourself.

I think this would be great to read to children, with the almost lyrical prose.

The only down side to this is that there doesn't seem to be enough - I love it and want to read more.

The illustrations in this are gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous.

I'd read or heard of most of the stories in this charming book, and I particularly liked the re-tellings of the ones more local to me.

I wouldn't say this is for really young children, perhaps 6 . It feels a bit grown up in places and younger children would probably struggle to understand some of the terms. It'd be perfect for reading aloud, perhaps a bedtime story to inspire dreams of dragons and giants?

A very good introduction to English Fairy tales. The regional basis to this & the added, slightly academic notes at the back lend details which are very enriching. Enjoyable but only read them to older children

This is hardly definitive, yet highly readable, fun & also covers most of the bases, in terms of an introduction. The links to what sourced the stories, the variants, and why they arose, is very well done. I would recommend reading the sources & further information chapters immediately after reading the chapter concerning the tale itself. It has a great bibiliography section which is very informative. Would prompt further reading & understanding of the folklore itself. Not complete, but a great introduction. Those looking for a more detailed summary or chronicle best look elsewhere
