Dharma Kelleher

This was a quick, compelling, and (mostly) easy read. The central character, Jinx, faces some horrific transphobic abuse but she rises above it. The story itself was well-crafted and well-edited. The characters were flawed, believable, and wonderfully diverse.

The one thing that, for me, made me question whether I'd continue with the story was the violence. Not violence observed by the MC or against the MC, violent acts committed by the MC. Jinx defends herself with crippling or deadly force on multiple occasions – without any remorse or self-questioning. She's just, like, 'well, he was a bad guy, so too bad' or 'it was him or me, so too bad.'

Anyway, if you enjoy fast-paced thrillers and don't mind main characters who routinely carry and use guns, give this one a try.… (altro)

Saddle up B'S for a AWESOME ride as we read about Shea Stevens an ex-con turned motorcycle builder by day and her run in with the law! Shea co-owned a shop for custom made motorcycles and was hopping mad when her shop was broken into, her pink custom made bikes and the QUALITY items stolen and that told her the thief knew his stuff! Now, with weeks from delivering the bikes, she couldn't build more as there was no time, plus her employee had been shot! Ms. Kelleher takes reads on a WILD ride where Shea hooks up with a sister that she hadn't seen in seventeen years and her niece has been kidnapped and a rasome of FOUR MILLION dollars to get an eight year old that she had never seen back! Outsmarting gangs, her sister's biker husband, and the police had Shea juggling like a one armed woman. Book one was over the top and I can't read to read book two!… (altro)
