Though I didn't take very many notes while I was reading this book, It really packed a punch. Not sure what I was getting myself into, I read haunting stories of coming into your own skin, sexual assault, hard work days and distant memories. Personal poems and short paragraphs and occasional pictures all meshed together, this book is definitely something that's going to stick with me, whether on my shelf or just in my mind.

Jesus, this book. I mean, no way could I add it to my YA collection here at the library (not that it was primarily intended for that audience, anyway), but I LOVED it. The few quotes I shared with friends got huge positive reactions, too; I now have a small group of folks clamoring for a copy when it comes out. Only "complaint," if one is to be made, is that there are only three pieces of visual art, while the cover implies there would be a more equal mix of writing and artwork. Still, not really complaining, because it's all gold.… (altro)
