A fascinating World War II escape story which follows the escapades of Private Randle Barlow who when captured in Greece by German forces manages to escape from a train that was taking him to a POW camp despite suffering from a serious leg wound. What followed was two years of avoiding recapture b y Italian and German military as he worked to get back to Allied lines. Some of the escapes are unbelievable as he was frequently blessed with uncommon luck, plus incredible assistance from Greek and Italian people who risked torture and death to hide him and feed him.

Reads like a fictional movie script. The author was also an WW II evader who spent time with Barlow in Greece and Italy. His story entitled, Escape to Nowhere, is an equally incredible read. Both men were driven to take incredible chances to stay free and get back home.
