Cathy A. Johnson

After reading the only member review on Cathy Johnson's "Creating Textures" I feel compelled to add mine. I am an intermediate level watercolorist and in a recent workshop, my instructor with 42 years of painting experience, repeatedly referred to this book . I love the book as a reference, "83 textures from glass to fur", a jump off point in developing texture and my own style. A must for any watercolorist's bookshelf!

I'm not as impressed with this book at all. It has a few useful things, but Claudia Nice's books are much more detailed. I find Johnson's book to be rather basic even for a beginner. Most information, to me, seems like common sense. A waste of my money.
