A quick, 24-hour romantic suspense read that entertained the whole time. I loved the former high-class call girl Tawny who had the perfect blend of confidence and reluctance based on her circumstances. Add in Linc, a sexy NYC sex crimes detective and a seriously comedic supporting cast to counter the dark criminal plot...I was "hooked" from page one.

A child with psychic abilities, often interfered with by her father's determination to handle her performance; now a grown woman long since, wishing for freedom from her abilities; a sudden terrifying encounter from a stranger. I found this to be an exceptionally interesting story of the life of a life-long psychic who can not find her way out of the wishes and desires of others who selfishly want her resources.
These are only small parts of a whole. This book was exciting, terrifying, and at once sad. Nevertheless, it is an amazing story and I loved it.
Once a child marveled at for her abilities, but growing up can bring new dangers.

Teamed with a detective believing in her at last and none too soon. Diana is in danger that would appear to be a danger she may not be able to deal with.

This is a very well written novel with a simple plot. A psychic (Diana Racine) that in her youth helped police department to solve crimes, is doing entertainment shows as an adult. When she touches the hand of a masked guy, she sees a dead woman under the water, and the masked man says to her that the game has begun. And then it starts a very high paced adventure, where our heroine is kidnapped by the masked guy and a policy lieutenant (Ernie Lucier) tries to rescue her. There is an emotional involvement between the two of them and the author deals very well with all the psychological sides of this relationship. Diana has also a very peculiar relation with her parents. All in all, this is a very entertaining book, that will keep you busy for a few hours. It took me around thirteen hours to read the whole book.
I recommend this book to the permanent library of all readers who like a good mystery with some paranormal activity.

I bought this book from amazon.com in its electronic version. Opinions expressed here are my own.

I received this book through the Kindle Scout program to read and review. This story is a fascinating read. Zoe, separated from her husband David after a breakdown of her marriage, is living at the couple’s shore condo while writing a book. Zoe is a well-known author with two best sellers. David is an advertising company owner. Previously, they worked together in the company, but Zoe wanted to stretch her wings, so left. Their marriage is not a happy one, and has not been happy for quite a while. There are a lot of mysteries in David’s life that, even after twenty years of marriage, he refuses to talk about. While out one day at the shore, Zoe meets a fascinating man who claims he is a professor on a leave of absence. Zoe finds the man fascinating and has a brief affair with him. When he is found dead a short time later, she is confused, unaware that this man had told her a pack of lies, and was actually a well-known thief, who dealt with stolen art work. The story grows as Zoe calls David after their condo is ransacked. Next two FBI agents arrive and, along with David, who has just arrived at the condo, discuss Zoe’s relationship with this mysterious dead man, and any other information she may have concerning him. To further complicate matters, two more feds arrive, once these two leave, and a shoot-out follows during their visit to discuss the same dead man. From here on, the story focuses on who the man was, his known heists and activities selling stolen art work, and the fact that it is beginning to look like Zoe, with Davis as an accomplice, was largely responsible for her lover’s death and other subsequent deaths occurring during the investigation. David and Zoe go on the run, getting help from David’s estranged brother Paul, who also happens to be involved in selling stolen diamonds.

The story is fast-moving as well as fascinating, as the author takes us through a series of events where Zoe and David, assisted by David’s brother Paul, find and piece together the story of this dead man and a huge art heist that occurred years ago. The tale is interesting, to say the least. I enjoyed reading it from start to finish, trying to figure out what each would do next, amid well planned and thought-out twists and turns. I found Zoe to be a solid, we-developed character, as was David’s brother Paul. I did not care much for David, but I think the author never intended a love fest for him. It was obvious the author knew or had researched the lives and actions of players in the heist and sell artwork and other expensive items business. This is a well written story, a mystery with many different angles and events that will keep any reader waiting for the next “shoe to drop”. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good mystery that is well done, giving the reader just enough information and clues to keep him/her wondering just what the next action/event or ending will be.
