Breve biografia
I think llama is a fun word.

My family is pop awesome

I once wrote a script with a friend and we had a typo while writing the words "so awesome" and it came out "pop awesome" which I find hilarious and still use to this day.

God is even more pop awesome than my family. He's the ultimate in pop awesomeness.

I have a BS in Computer Science from Georgia Tech with a specialization in software engineering. No, I do not know how to fix your computer.

I live in the Greater Atlanta Area, which narrows it down to about half the state of Georgia; I live with my husband and three children. [mostly from website]

This novella, by Kristi Ann Hunter, is a Regency era story about Amelia Stalwood, whose origins are a little muddy. She’s the daughter of a gentleman, but both her parents have died, so she has become the ward of a viscount. The viscount is a distant relative in the country who really does especially care for noise or children. He sends her to live in the empty house he has in London and promptly forgets about her. Nine years later, Amelia is living at the edge of refined, aristocratic society. She does not have the title “Lady,” and her closest friends are the people who work in her residence and the servants of other households. She is very concerned about what will happen to her when she turns twenty-one and the viscount is no longer obligated to care for her. She meets the Marquis of Raebourne, Anthony, who has a bad reputation, in a most embarrassing way. Anthony has recently become a Christian and is trying to mend his way, including the avoidance of alcohol and meaningless dalliances with women, in hopes of finding a woman of esteem to marry. Amelia is unlike any woman Anthony has ever known, but will her more humble position pose a hindrance? Will his reputation frighten her off? Amelia is also befriended by Miranda Hawthorne, a close acquaintance of the newly reformed Marquis of Raebourne, who appears to be the protagonist in the first novel of the Hawthorne House series: A Noble Masquerade. There is an excerpt from that novel at the end of this eBook and A Lady of Esteem serves as its prequel. I liked the religious aspects of forgiveness and redemption throughout this story.… (altro)

Pixels And Paint, a contemporary rom-com, is a delight! There is plenty of humor and sweet romance to be sure, but the strength of this novel by Kristi Ann Hunter is the message of being true to oneself. Emma Trinket lives a compartmentalized life — work, friends, and family boxes rarely overlap. She has developed this system over the years to make everyone happy, except herself. A programmer with serious skills, she is curious about how the world works, but is bored when it comes to the arts — all arts. Carter, a very successful artist, finds Emma intriguing, and interactions with this seemingly contradictory woman spark his creativity. The two have great chemistry as they navigate their differences. But this book is so much more than what I have described. Emma is a complex character who has stifled her true nature to please others. Carter is lovable, but perhaps arrogant in his own ideas about how the world should be viewed. I loved how Hunter stretched and prodded and pushed both characters. Carter and Emma’s friends and family call them out and hold them accountable — isn’t that how it should be in real life?

The easy style of Pixels and Paint made the book a fast read. I smiled, I LOL-ed, and I teared up a bit — basically I had a great reading experience. There is another Trinket sister waiting in the wings for her chance to take the stage, and I am eager to see what adventures and revelations Hunter will take her through.

Recommended.

Audience: Adults.

I loved getting to see more of what made Griffith into the brother, friend, and duke that he was.

As I am reading this series for fun and not reviewing I'm just going to suggest you check out the reviews by Kellyn Roth and Hannah Gridley for my reasons behind the low rating.

Thankfully due to their warnings I was able to skim the ickiness.
