An interesting look at the checkered history of the Erie Railroad, up to the time of publication (1947), which was about a decade or so before the railroad eventually met its demise (in a merger with its local rival, the Lackawanna). I purchased this book at going-out-of-business bookstore fire sale. It was probably sent to Davison's in Atlanta when the store merged with Macy's. Inscription: "To the Department of Training of Davison Paxon Stores with the compliments of RHMach and Co., Inc. March 30, 1926.
