The entire animal kingdom is all abuzz with the news. Each type of animal tried to do their best to get ready (except the owl). When he didn't come by nightfall, the owl told them everything they needed to know. A marvelous book!
The illustrations by Angela Glökler and Rea Grit Zielinski are simply delightful, imaginative, and brilliantly colorful.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to anyone, but especially to your church library!

I loved this book! Adorable critters worry about how to best prepare for God's visit, only to realize at the end of the day that He has been with them all along.

A very cute story with lovely illustrations. While the animals get ready for God's visit by preening and primping and trying to look and do their best, it turns out the God was with them all along. He's always with us. A great lesson for children to learn.

This is a charming book with whimsical illustrations and a thought-provoking storyline. I enjoyed it myself and know my grandkids will want to hear it again and again.

This sweet story relates how different animals in the world spread the news that God is Coming and prepare to impress God. But what is great enough for God? The animals spend all day getting ready and fretting, but God doesn't show up! Finally, in the moonlight, the wise OWL informs them that God is always here and all they need to do is "be still and feel God's love." The culmination of the story explains how we can always be certain that God is with us. This is a great message for children ages 3 - 7 (and all of us). The illustrations are fun and colorful.

A cute little storybook geared toward preschool-age children, this book gently reminds them that God is always with us. All the animals in this story are trying their best to entice God to come visit them with their antics - strutting, singing in a choir, roaring, anything they can do to get God's attention. The illustrations are eye-catching, and sure to keep children's attention. I received an advanced copy and was under no obligation to write a positive review.

This book is a true joy to read. As a Pastor, I asked for an advanced copy with thoughts of using this in Children's Ministry. The book follows the animals of the world getting ready for a visit from God. They are all trying to come up with something to do or show for God. The owl tried to tell them that God is with us all the time but they didn't listen at first. Finally, after dark when all was quiet the owl spoke and the animals heard. What a great book to show children that God is always with us, all around us, and able to hear our every need no matter how large or small we are, no matter how well we can do one thing or another. He loves us for who we are, just as we are.

The first part of this book is something of a picture-book cliche (something seemingly momentous is going to happen and the characters over-prepare for something actually not that important), it feels a bit odd tonally since the thing these animals are preparing for is the visit of God Almighty.

But even though the story follows this structure, I actually thought the revelation that God is always with us was handled with class and sincerity. Most religiously themed picture books feel cloy to me but I found the conclusion to this one satisfying.

Various animals in the world are excited that God is coming to "visit" and each one prepares to do something special for the occasion. A delightful way to teach children ages 3-7 about the nature of God's love and presence in their lives.

This whimsically illustrated picture book depicts the story of land, sea and animals of the air preparing for a visit from God. Every animal had a ritual to impress God. In the end they all learned what God is really about.

'God's Coming to Visit' is a wonderful way to introduce and explain God to the little ones. It is written in a very simple way, that any child can comprehend. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful. i am sure man children will pick it up on their own, time and time again, just to see the pictures.

I loved this book and it's message of God's love and of how He is always with us.
