I read "The Picture Bible" completely through when I was around twelve and enjoyed it, and I would recommend it to young adolescents, especially those who would find its comic-book/graphic novel style appealing. However, the images are becoming dated, reflecting out-of-date historical information. Furthermore, the language about God and humankind is exclusive, and the people are unfortunately depicted entirely as Caucasian. Also, while generally the language of the text presented here is modernized (as of the 1970s), some reflects the King James Version. As I said previously, I would highly recommend it to young adolescents; however, I would only do so if there was ample opportunity to discuss some of "The Picture Bible's" shortcomings with the youth.… (altro)
