This is a selection of some Sexton Blake stories. Strangely the very first story appears last. There are six stories, all somewhat like Sherlock Holmes. In fact Sexton Blake lives on Baker Street for a period adds to the similarity.
The first story was The Mystery of Glyn Castle, originally published in 1923. Two friends wash up beside a castle, one with amnesia since World War I, he finds that he looks a lot like a portrait of one of the family who own the castle. When his friend goes for a doctor he finds that his friend is missing.
The Case of the Society Blackmailer was originally published in 1925. It's exactly what the title says.
Crime in the Wood - originally published in 1925 - a story of death and deception.
Down and Out - Originally published in 1929 - A tramp is accused of murder. Sexton Blake doen't believe so.
The Missing Millionaire - the first Sexton Blake story, published in 1893 originally - the weakest of the stories but is an interesting story.
This is very much in the style of your interwar detective story and is great fun.… (altro)
