Henry Hart is currently the Mildred and J. B. Hickman Professor of Humanities at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. He has published several books of literary criticism about modern poets, including The Poetry of Geoffrey Hill (1986j, Seamus Heaney; Poet of Contrary mostra altro Progressions (1991), Robert Lowell and the Sublime (1995), and The James Dickey Reader (1999). James Dickey: The World As a Lie di Henry Hart
So far, the definitive portrait of the great poet -- and a mean, somewhat pedantic one. Hart is more interested in Dickey as a heavy-drinking, big-talking, womanizing lout than as an artist; when he does get around to the poetry, he tends to scrutinize it for how "true" it is. There may never be a more complete book about Dickey, but one can't help but yearn for a more intelligent, less trashy one.
