For this adaptation of Winnie-the-Pooh Chapter One. In Which We Are Introduced to Winnie-the-Pooh and Some Bees, and the Stories Begin, Elsie Harrison has taken A. A. Milne's brilliant prose and chopped and watered it down to a dull and pallid imitation. There are better adaptations available.

As for the art, it is clear Harrison failed to read Your Pooh Can Make You Rich! by Michael T. Prescott. Her Pooh is very much modeled on the Disney version which is definitely not in the public domain. The art is almost decent, though Harrison is apparently not a seasoned artist, as this image of Pooh impaled on a gorse bush proves:

(My Pooh Project: I love Winnie the Pooh, and so does my wife. Having a daughter gave us a chance to indoctrinate her into the cult by buying and reading her every Pooh book we came across.
