Nice, easy read. My kind of romantic novel. I became fully invested in Camilla and Tom's story but was less convinced by Jackie and Lawrence's reunion, but maybe that's the groundwork for another story later on. I've now bought Summer at The Cosy Cottage Cafe and 'Autumn' is next on my list. I love the book cover as well.
This is the first book in the Cosy Cottage Cafe series. True to form, I started off by reading the last book, Winter at the Cosy Cottage Cafe, before reading this one. I loved both, and it didn’t really matter that I was reading them out of order.
In this book, we learn all about Allie Jones, the widowed owner of the Cosy Cottage Cafe. She is already established in the cafe as the story begins. An old friend, Chris Monroe, has returned to the village for his mother’s funeral. He has always loved Allie, but never told her, as she was in love with their other friend, Roger, whom she married.
Naturally there’s a misunderstanding which causes a bit of friction along the way and we find out more about her marriage to Roger and what happened on the night he died, when she discusses her marriage with Chris.
It’s another nice cosy read, ending up, as expected, with Allie and Chris getting together.… (altro)
