Well written first person account of a company commander, Royal Marines, in the Falklands War, 1982. Powerful description of the challenge of the elements during a yomp across East Falkland and a night attack on the Twin Sisters mountain, allied with perceptive and reflective comments about the nature of command and the overall prosecution of the conflict. Highly enjoyable, though (to this reader)slightly surpassed by Ian Gardiner's first book, "In the Service of the Sultan", about the Dhofar war in Oman in the 1970s.… (altro)
