"The most interesting, and possibly useful thing about the book is that it takes a more international perspective on video game history, since it's a translation of a German work, expanded upon when it was published in the UK. It doesn't favor America, nor does it ignore the West in favor of the Japanese market - either of which most historical perspectives tend to do. It feels weird to ignore Japan when so many groundbreaking games come out of there, or the fact that Nintendo, a Japanese company, revitalized the American market. And you can't ignore the West, given that the whole shebang started here with MIT and Atari and so forth."… (altro)
