This was such a fantastic and emotional read. Poor Gabe thinks he is not worthy of the love and life with Leigh. He was raised in a horrible environment by awful parents and then was taken from them and put in foster care. Because of his upbringing he just cant reconcile that he will be a better person than his parents so he walks away from Leigh again and again. Leigh knew Gabe was the love of her life and he was all she wanted but she was tired of fighting for something that Gabe wouldn't allow them to have. Their push and pull kept me intrigued and sucked me in the entire time. I was routing for them, especially Gabe and was hoping he would figure out that Leigh loves him as he is, flaws and all. This book had amazing line up of secondary characters that loved their friends and were so loyal, it made me happy they had these people in their lives. I truly enjoyed this book and it is book 3 of a series but I haven't even read the other 2 and I will be changing that now and going to read the other characters stories.… (altro)

Leni and Griffin are the epitome of friends to lovers. At first when they were young griffin felt like she was a burden to be around and wasn’t fond of having to hangout with her at every moment. Then after seeing how Leni was suffering after losing her mother, he made an effort to be there for her and then they instantly clicked. As being best friends for so long they know every little thing bout each other and do almost everything together. What is hidden behind lingering stares and not wanting to be without the other is a tension that is so tangible, but they are both terrified to mess up their friendship. Leni is a shy person always wanting to stay in and read her books or chill with Griffin. She has always had feelings for her friend but always scared of losing those close to her she keeps them hidden. An incident leads them to become more reliable on each other and while they are doing so Griffin keeps finding it hard to keep his feelings hidden any more. From the start you know they belong together and as a reader you keep rooting for them but Leni’s anxiety about losing all those around she loves is always in her mind and she finds it hard to live her life. Can they find a way to take their friendship to the next level without losing each other or will Leni’s fears drive a wedge that ends years of love and friendship? I loved Griffin so much he was such a loving man with a heart of gold. Leni’s Nan was amazing and always made me laugh, but towards the end there were a few minutes when I wanted to shake some since into Leni just like her Nan tried to be blunt with her nonsense. Such a sweet and lovable read that I enjoyed very much and would love to see the side characters get a story because I can tell there is so much more to them.… (altro)

I loved the premise of this story. There were a lot of moments that's I really enjoyed but there were others that were just off for me. The story felt disjointed at times for me but it wasn't enough for me to stop reading. I just wanted, as a reader, to connect more with the characters and story. I'm not sure if this was just me being extra picky or what which is frustrating because as I mentioned, the premise was fantastic. I just needed the connection and the backstory fleshed out more.

Still enjoyable and will look for more from this author in the fit to see if this was just a one-off for me.… (altro)

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..I enjoyed story, could be considered an friends to lovers or second chance. We meet Tempie who is a single mom to the cutest little girl (Ellie) I loved how important Ellie was to the story and she got her due amount of time in it. Tempie has no one but her friend Leigh who helps her out as much as possible, but she works a lot to give her daughter the best and you have to commend her for it. Her long ago high school crush comes back into town after being gone for 10 years and the only reason he came back to this small town was to the reigns of his fathers company something he never wanted nor thought he would do. They reconnect and he wants something more from Tempie, she goes back and forth and thru out all of this we are rooting for them and hoping she would just give in. Unfortunately when she finally gives in and they fall in love her big reveal comes out before she gets a chance to tell Asher this, and he is understandably mad, a little too harsh and I think he needed to apologize after he finally gives her the chance to explain herself, that is my only issue, just an apology I don't she got it, but we get out Hea.
