The Life Cycle of a Butterfly is a great pattern book for younger students as well as Multilingual Learners. This book demonstrates a pattern of life changes throughout a development of a butterfly. Some children are aware how a butterfly grows, but this book will allow children to make a deeper connection and think critically using patterns throughout the process. A science book such as The Life of a Butterfly would also be great to work with ELL’s using picture cues and patterns to read and understand text.
