It's clever to have all the characters bring Pooh birthday presents that highlight different shapes, but the rhymes are just too forced and awkward to make this book a favorite.

(My Pooh Project: I love Winnie the Pooh, and so does my wife. Having a daughter gave us a chance to indoctrinate her into the cult by buying and reading her every Pooh book we came across. Christopher Robin is handing out colorful lollipops to his friends in the Hundred-Acre Wood, matching Piglet with Pink, Tigger with orange, etc.

It's a cute and quick read that I read to my daughter countless times when she was a toddler, as the well-worn cover proves.
