Usually, when a novel has dual timelines, I find the historical one more interesting. However, in "Chateau of Secrets", Melanie Dobson created two compelling storylines - Chloe's in the present and Gisela's during WWII. Both stories stood on their own but also complemented each other, and the two protagonists were courageous, determined and resilient. I can always count on Melanie Dobson for a well-crafted and meticulously researched story. The Wings of Poppy Pendleton is a dual-time tale told from various points of view and switching between 1907 and 1992 in the Thousand Island area of New York. It’s a little gritty with some sensitive and possibly disturbing subject matter, but Dobson handles it well. With plenty of suspense and lots of twists and turns, this is a real page-turner 4.5 stars
