A family comes upon a stray dog that nobody wants. They try to find him a home with friends and neighbors, none are interested or able. An unexpected event causes them to realize the best home for Woof. Selected by my colleague as a readloud during elementary library time, I had the opportunity to read the second half aloud to students grades 2-4. The text and illustrations are a bit dated, but then the book was published in 1989.
