This book is great if you just need to be entertained and aren't looking for a book with a lot of deeper meaning. While it does have some and themes and family and friendship run throughout it, it's still a middle grade novel. I enjoyed it quite a lot. The illustrations were just as amazing in this book as the first one in the series. The green definitely gave it an effect like you were out in the woods :). I would recommend this series. It's just a fun series. Kind of gothic, kind of mystery, kind of funny. A bit of everything. 5 out of 5 stars.… (altro)

So, here's the thing guys -- I loved this book. It reminded me of Coraline or The series of Unfortunate Events. This was a fun middle grade novel with great writing that kept you guessing. The illustrations brought so much to the story and I'm really glad they were included because I don't think it would have worked nearly as well without them. Humor, puzzles, twists and turns. This is a book anyone would love. I would recommend it (and I can't wait for the next book in the series!). 5 out of 5 stars.… (altro)
