I wasn't much impressed with the original book, but I love graphic novels so I thought I'd see if adding more pictures might help the story.

Nope.

I still don't like the bully being at the center of the story or the ambiguity of the ending.

Meh.

My daughter only had five of these Bailey School books, and two of them involve soccer? Ugh.

These junior chapter books seem to be set in the second grade, while the main series chapter books are set in third grade, so there's no Mrs. Jeepers, just the four kids. And one of them is an annoying bully who is supposed to be comic relief? Double ugh.

Kids face down a vampire sucking the sugar sucking all the sugar out of all the candy in town. And I could not care in the least.

It was almost impressive that this book about an egg hunt and marshmallow bunnies manages to entirely avoid the word "Easter." The illustrator must not have got the memo, though, as she slipped it into one picture.

Fifteen books in and this series still features a bully character that the other kids enable. And apparently the ambiguity of whether events are truly paranormal or just misinterpreted by the kids is an ongoing theme.

I can see why my daughter only got a handful of these books when she was younger. They're just not funny or good.

After some kids bully their first teacher into quitting, the find themselves up against a more formidable opponent. The book even gives a little tip of the hat to Viola Swamp from Miss Nelson Is Missing.

It was hard to like the kids since so many played along with the main bully, and the ending is abrupt and doesn't resolve any of the questions raised about the teacher.

It's X-Files babies as third graders of Bailey Elementary School take on the substitute art teacher who may be a color-draining alien.

I can sort of see the appeal of the supernatural element to children, but most of the kid characters in the book are exceedingly bland except for the very irritating bad boy, Eddie.

Story felt very rushed and incomplete. Sadly, not worth the shelf space.

Kati grew up in Hungary, and knew from a young age that she wanted to be a scientist. She attended the Science Olympics at 14 (and came in third). She earned a PhD, got married, and had a daughter, all while still focusing on her goal: making new mRNA that would help people's bodies fight illness. Dr. Kariko moved to the U.S. to continue her research (and run marathons on the side). She partnered with scientist Drew Weisman on her mRNA idea, and after eight years, it worked! She moved to Germany to work for BioNTech, and her work became the foundation for creating the COVID-19 vaccine.

Back matter includes a timeline, steps to making a vaccine, author's note, glossary, source notes (pull quotes are used throughout), resources for further study, and acknowledgments.

Just plain silliness for the kids. And the vampire (not quite proven to be such) in this story does drink Pink Lemonade with great relish. If I can convince my niece to pick up more, I'll be reading them with her.

This book was about mermaids, and was left at a great cliffhanger to capture the reader, and encourage them to read more. I think that the book would be great for young middle school girls that are needing something to read. The book is also a sequel of over 20 books.

A good book...a little bit advanced for my fourth grade daughter who does not understand the literary device of inference.

This is cute, but it ends so lackluster. There's a climatic point where the students begin to seriously suspect Ms Jeepers as a vampire, but it never reaches a full conclusion. I've never read the original, so I can’t compare it.

Instead of a "the end" I was expecting a "to be continued." Still, this will be great for new readers to graphic novels. The panels are big and easy to follow.

The Bailey school kids is a classic beginning chapter book series for kids it has been around for decades. Just recently they started to turn the classic books into a graphic novel series coming out a scholastic called graphics. The graphics are fine and lovely kids will see them and enjoy them. However the graphic novels turn the kids into little snot that are really quite annoying where in the chapter books they are precocious and curious and not necessarily obnoxious but in the book they’re obnoxious so for me this is it A total fail it’s not bad but not something I would gravitate to or probably recommend. If you want a good beginning chapter graphic novel choose Cleo in Fritz automatic treehouse
