Craig Crist-Evans

When a boy and his family move from Florida to New England, he has a hard time dealing with the changes. Not too long after his father is diagnosed with cancer and dies which leaves the family feeling depressed. The end of the book offers hope and healing. This book is written in poetry and is beautiful. I would love to use this to demonstrate books that are written in a different form then the normal way.

Interesting history story about a young boy living in civil war time. He keeps a journal of eveything that happened and things he saw.

This book is about a boy (who has no name in the story) who gets called to battle. So he goes. And then his father dies. Then he goes home and he and his mother watch the moon.
