All of the poems in this book are rhyming. Also most of the poems in this book has end rhymes. There are also internal rhymes in the poems in this book. In majority of the poems you will find that there is repetition in the poems in this book as well. Some of the poems in here have similes such as Mary had a little lamb, where the fleece is compared to snow. Also another simile is Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, where the star is compared to a diamond. I really found that the author used two poems on the same page and was able to use the imagery to make a drawing for both poems on to one page, such as little Poll Parrot, Twinkle, Twinkle little star, A Wise Old Owl, Three young rats, Elsie Marley"s grown so fine, Jack be nimble, Little Boy Blue, and To Market, To Market and many more. There is the voice of poetry that I found mainly in this book to be conversation. The poems that have the voice of poetry of conversation is Old Mother Hubbard, Baa, baa, Black Sheep, Simple Simon Met a Pieman, Little Boy Blue, One, Two, Three, Four, Five, There was an Old Woman Tossed Up in a Basket, and Are you Coming, Sir?. I also found that certain poems had and can be written differently. Also the poems do have meanings to them and try to teach a lesson.… (altro)
