Jan Cox

Mended Wings is a small, pamphlet sized, book of poetry reflecting on the author's survival from two bouts with breast cancer. The poet, Jan Cox, is an artist, photographer., musician and writer who lives in the mountains of California near Lake Almanor. I got to know her when I served a small church at Lake Almanor where she is a member and plays guitar and piano for Sunday services. I consider her to be a friend. Her poetry expresses all the emotions that come with a life threatening illness. The joy of being alive comes through the pain and fear. Mended Wings ends with a prose chapter telling about her illness and recovery and her gratitude for the gift of being alive.… (altro)
