- Thera Coppens werd op 19 mei 1947 in Amsterdam geboren. Zij volgde daar een journalistieke (praktijk-) opleiding bij de Geïllustreerde Pers en specialiseerde zich in artikelen over geschiedenis en kunst. Ze debuteerde met gedichten in De Gids en korte TV spelen voor de AVRO.
Ze woont sinds 1983 in Baarn met haar man Wim Hazeu. Daar is ook sinds 1988 haar Historisch Toerisme Bureau gevestigd.

This is a novel based on historical research. Margaret of Flanders was the grand-daughter of Eleanor of Aquitaine and my probable generation 26 ancestor. I've been verifying my line back to Eleanor, writing one blog post per generation. This book is part of my literature survey for generation 26. The author did not use any original records, but did use many published sources that should help me find the originals.

I liked the book for its content, but found the style of the writer a bit hyperbolic and bombastic, in a "tell, don't show" kind of way. I prefer to draw my own conclusions about people's characters rather than being told somebody is a vile man, for example. I would not pick up another book by this author unless the topic is of great interest to me.… (altro)
