A great retelling of the origins of the Fantastic Four. The only good thing that came out of the Heroes Reborn story line.

A promising beginning that fell short. The team of super humans is not a new concept, but that issue was overcome nicely. It's the execution that was somewhat lacking. The story was all over the place, and I'm still not sure what some of the team members can do or why the teenagers don't have the same trouble the parents had with their powers. And I have no idea where the alien came from or who the kid is--It seems like they're important to the story, but poof! they're gone. Strange.

Based on the let-down of the first GN in this series, I wouldn't have read this if I hadn't already had it on a shelf. Some of the same story problems exist here; no idea what the point of the arc in Italy was, how old any of the people on the team are, who the bounty-hunting aliens are, or why the characters make some of the (very stupid) decisions they make. The writer needed to pick an arc and stick with it rather than try to tell every story at the same time.

Fun if not exactly riveting. The story is pretty bland, but the artistry is excellent.
