This is a wonderful resource for do-able exercises! Our library has a copy of this title.

This is a really useful and worthwhile book, though I would say that the title is misleading: it's not just for "seniors over 60."

I requested it from early reviewers because I have experience with yoga, but I also have experience with injuries and other limiting factors. It can be difficult to find an instructor who is able to provide extensive assistance with modified poses, so a do-it-yourself guide was really appealing. It didn't disappoint.

The book is grouped into exercises for specific concerns, which could make it very helpful for someone who is seeking poses for only a very narrow issue. I would personally suggest not limiting yourself in such a way and taking advantage of more poses. This method of organization does make it easy to quickly flip through to find exactly what you're looking for, though.

Readers will be pleased to find you can do all the exercises in your own home, and you don't need special outfits or equipment. Feeling like you need to do a lot of prep work before starting a new exercise or fitness program can be a real barrier to getting started, and this book just sidesteps that barrier altogether. I was literally able to download the ebook and get started, so that's perfect.

There's solid advice about what poses to avoid if you have X issue (eg, high blood pressure). The guidance about meditation may be helpful for those who experience pain and health conditions; even if you're thinking only of the physical fitness aspect, it won't hurt to embrace all aspects of yoga. I feel like this book does a good job of encouraging this holistic view of health.

The book does a good job of not giving you too much information, which can be overwhelming when you're taking on a new practice. The illustrations and instructions, though, are extremely clear, and it's all easy to follow.

I'm very pleased that I won this book in the ER giveaway, because the things it contains have truly become a part of my daily routine. You really can't say that about every book, but it's been true of this one (for me).

Easy yoga moves to help seniors maintain flexibility and strength. I like this book because I'm in that age group and it is explained well.

First, I received this ebook as part of the Library Thing Early Reviewers program. Secondly, I am a certified Chair Yoga instructor so I was very interested to see what the book had to offer.
The book has a really nice introduction to yoga which new practitioners of yoga will find helpful and interesting. The illustrations in the book are of excellent quality and nicely demonstrate how the poses should look. There is a plan for a full practice at the end of the book. The ebook also offers a link to an online meditation although I have not listened to it. Perhaps my favorite chapter was the one on mudras. I thought that chapter was very well-done, and I will definitely use parts of it in classes that I teach. The author makes mudras easy and accessible.
Many new users will like the way that the book is organized in poses for specific parts of the body as well as problems the body experiences, such as knee pain. However, that organization may prove self-limiting as many of the poses are good useful for a variety of reasons. The thing I found most odd, which was also mentioned by another reviewer, is the categorization of both Cat and Cow poses as "advanced poses". These are both basic poses that will be found in almost every class as a useful way to flex the spine.
The title of the book is a bit misleading. Certainly the Chair Yoga poses are great for people over the age of 60, but they are equally valuable for people under age 60. I have had people all ages attend my Chair Yoga classes. Everyone finds them beneficial. I received the book via an email from the author, Jeanne Chapshaw. I have to wonder why her name is not listed anywhere in the publication. (That is the librarian in me coming through.)
Overall, I think that many people will find this book useful. It is a solid entry in the growing body of literature devoted to Chair Yoga.
