This is the most informative & interesting novel that I have read thus far in regards to the life of the sister of Napoleon. It far surpasses Imperial Venus by Edgar Maas & even Dixon’s Pauline:Napoleon’s Favorite Sister, which were not nearly as thorough researched & written several years later. It brings to light several interesting anecdotes involving her relationships, her attitude toward Josephine, her utter devotion toward Napoleon, & toward life in general that I had not read before. Even though it does mention several incidents regarding her mood swings, it curiously does not mention her riff with Elizabeth Patterson, or even that she had met her at all. It does state [falsely] that Pauline had not met Jerome’s American son, however.… (altro)
