I absolutely love the arrangements of these familiar Christmas songs. I like the fact that you can understand each word they sing. I have a few songs that stick out for me.

Silent Night just floated, bringing chills down my spine from the harmonies.
We Three Kings of Orient Are had a perfect accompaniment for a deceptively tricky vocal arrangement.
Twas in the Moon of Winter Time (sometimes called Huron Carol) was lovely.
Go Tell it on the Mountain was tweaked to make it fresh.
Rise up Shepherd, and Follow was haunting.

If you enjoy choral Christmas music, you won't be disappointed.

Christmas Star: Carols for the Christmas Season. Library section 15: adult media. CD. This is a lovely CD of Christmas carols performed by The Cambridge Singers and Orchestra under the direction of composer John Rutter. It begins with a spritely version of “Good Christian Men, Rejoice” and continues with mostly familiar Christmas carols. My favorites are the Native American Huron song, “‘Twas in the Moon of Winter Time” and “Un Flambeau, Jeannette, Isabelle.” It ends with a rousing version of “O Come, All Ye Faithful.” This is a beautiful performed and recorded CD of beloved carols sung with beautiful harmonies, sometimes a capella (unaccompanied) and sometimes with orchestra.
John Rutter, the director, is an important British composer, director, arranger and producer of mostly religious choral music, such as his Requiem. He formed The Cambridge Singers primarily to record choral music. Rutter’s setting of “Psalm 150" was commissioned for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee and performed at a service of thanksgiving at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London.
I recently refiled all our choir music and found several Rutter anthems as well as two copies of a book of 10 Rutter anthems. I hope we can sing some of Rutter’s work soon because I love to sing lovely music and connect our worship at Epiphany with modern composers of the finest religious music available. One of my favorite Rutter anthems is “A Gaelic Blessing,” a lovely piece which you can find performed on youtube.com, along with many other Rutter pieces sung by different choral groups all over the world.
