Dark Wolf Rising (Bloodrunners, #4) di Rhyannon Byrd

I am a fan of this series and so was happy to see RB finally continuing it. Parts were real good but I was ultimately disappointed in the heroine who started out okay and kind of fun but who turned into a totally unlikeable bitch at the end. Eric was a great hero and really deserved better than her. Still I will continue with the next book when it comes out and hope the heroine is more sympathetic. The plot and werewolf world was great. I like my werewolves darker and not as comical as some authors write them which makes this a great series since the world building is darker in this series. It really was the heroine that dropped this down to 3 stars.… (altro)

Keep Me Closer (A Dangerous Tides Novel) di Rhyannon Byrd

Nicely done. I enjoyed this one as much as the first one. This is romantic suspense lite I guess. There was a bad guy and the heroine was threatened but the gist of the story was these two finally hooking up. They have known each other for years although they haven't really liked each other. Of course it is that playground kind of not liking each other where the sniping is a cover up for attraction. So the major portion of the story is the hot sex they have. I'm not really a person who reads just for the sex since I like plot more but there was enough plot here to hang the story on and the sex seemed integral to the story rather than an inane interruption of the action.

So as I said a lot of times I'm just hurrying to get past the tab A slot B stuff but I can get behind some sexing it up if it's done well and here it really worked for me. It was probably a little over the top but boy was it hot. I was trying to figure out how to get my hubby to read it just for a couple of hints you know ;-)
