Gritty book about flying in New Guinea during WW2. Ugly and disease infested, it was hard on airplanes and worse for their crews. Despite the sort of rushed and confusing ending, it was a good story mostly told well.

The action moves to the European Theater with a new set of planes and venues but some of the same old problems. Mr. Buckhalter, please keep writing and noting Rick Atkinson's great Liberation Trilogy as a great resource, , you might want to consider the other services.
