A cute picture book that is perfect for young readers learning dedication, faith, and responsibility.

I read this with my younger sister at bedtime and she enjoyed it, which I was not surprised since my sister is starting to take more care of our family dog and is so sweet and loyal to our pets.

This is a wonderful, pink, and good bedtime read for little girls.

I voluntarily received and reviewed a complimentary e/copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

IT WAS EFFECTIVE FOR ME

I am a Christian. I felt the ideas represented in this story very well were supported by scripture. I also appreciated the honesty of the struggle of the Christian life. Several of the concepts presented toward the end of the story especially inspired me. I highly recommend to anyone, even someone willing to keep an open mind to faith.

Candace's book had some great tips on style. Not a lot was new to me, and even though Candace has great style, I did not get many tips that would be useful to me. I would have loved more references to her Christian lifestyle and fashion related to that.

Interesting to learn about her non-typical Hollywood life. Her weight loss advice is ok, but I at least like that it is real - based on how she manages her life. She looks like she is twenty! I wanted a spiritual connection with weight loss, but I am not sure hers connected with me. Its subtitle is "Motivation for physical and spiritual fitness" not sure it lived up to the subtitle but a good read for me as I can relate to the food issues.

This book is way too long. I find this is just another example of an actress being given a book deal for name recognition. The author even uses her own name as the character's name. If that was the case why not say this happened when I was younger, etc. I think it needs a better editor or a better ghost writer.

I grew up watching Candace Cameron Bure on full house. I listened to the audio version as I love listening to a book when its read by a favorite author. I didn't really learn much fashionwise that I didn't know but I did learn that Candace loves books which I thought was cool.

Celebrity Candace Cameron Bure's (Full House, The View) latest inspirational title discusses the power of living graciously and how developing one's faith can assist readers on the road to kindness. Each chapter delves into an area of life that women can improve on with a little more kindness; friendship, family, decision making big and small, and discovering purpose. In a society that has such conflicting ideals, Candace seeks to help readers discover God's true purpose for them and encourages readers to dig deep and discover truths that too often are kept buried. Kindness not only improves the lives of those around us, but it drastically improves the one giving it. A little kindness can have a ripple effect into the lives of others and Candace strives hard to make that clear though personal testimony and God's word, that kindness is truly the new classy. Expertly narrated by the author herself, Candace's sweet and charming tone leaves no doubt that's she's smiling and laughing her way though this great narration. This latest self help novel will find a large audience not only among her fans, but within church groups and women's bible studies.

I have many good memories of watching "Full House" with my brother growing up. If you didn't know, the author of this book, Candace Cameron Bure, starred as DJ Tanner in "Full House." I was even more thrilled to find out Ms. Bure is a Christian and pretty outspoken about her faith. We need more of that, especially in Hollywood.

"Staying Stylish: Cultivating a Confident Look, Style and Attitude" by Candace Cameron Bure is a non-fiction book written as a type of manual. The main topics it covers are style/fashion, health and faith. The book itself is a beautiful hardback book with a ribbon bookmark to mark your place. I really love all of the pictures to illustrate the different things covered in the book.

Ms. Bure writes in a down-to-earth manner. Her tips and tricks are very practical and ones a normal person can implement. I found myself recently consulting the book on the best way to wear a skirt. What I love most is that Ms. Bure doesn't just talk about beauty and style, but also how important it is to take care of oneself physically, mentally and spiritually. She talks about prayer, journaling and having a quiet time. Lastly, she stresses that you should be true to yourself!

Content: This is a clean read. The only problem I can see one having is that people have different convictions on modesty and some Christians may not be comfortable with some of her outfits.

Rating: I give this book 5 stars!

Genre: Christian; Non-fiction

I want to thank Candace Cameron Bure, Zondervan and Book Look Bloggers for the complimentary copy of this book for review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I express in this review are my own. This is in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s CFR 16, Part 255.

I really enjoyed this book! This book was written to help people gain a better understanding of fitness, nutrition, and a healthy life-style. It gives examples of healthy food choices, routines, and spiritual quotes. Myself I know I worry about staying healthy, so reading a book like this definitely helps. One of the reasons I liked this book was because of the writing. For example, Candace says, "Eat until you're satisfied, not full. Eat everything in moderation." This quote made me want to keep reading her book because I had never thought about food this way. I always thought about food as something you needed to cut back on or to eat healthier food, But what she is saying is eat until you're no longer hungry, don't stuff yourself. She also is saying you're allowed to eat dessert, but eat it in moderation, don't eat it every day. Another reason I liked this book was because she gave you recipes throughout the book. For example, at the end of one of her chapters she gives us a recipe of her healthy homemade chicken noodle soup. She cuts down on the salt and added more veggies. She continue to add homemade recipes throughout her book. This book is a good book to read if you want to learn how to have a healthier life-style.

I may have not been her target audience, but I enjoyed reading about Candace's life growing up and then raising her own children.

This book was not at all what I expected - in a good way.

Yes it is exciting to read about Candace and Kirk’s childhood and rise to Hollywood fame but it’s also very exciting to see how they managed to avoid the pitfalls that so many other Hollywood stars fall right into.

It is comforting to see that the family is very much like most of our own. I think a lot of people tend to think that just because someone is in a movie or on TV - they’re nothing like “normal” people.

Cameron makes a point of letting us know that her family was very normal as she was growing up and that she and her husband do what they can to provide their children with as normal a life as possible now.

I will hazard a guess that there are things in the book that people will not agree with but they should remember this:

Just because you do something in a different way, doesn’t mean it’s right or wrong - it’s just right or wrong for your family. A lot of people I know say they could never homeschool but it is exactly the right choice for our family!

All-in-all, it’s a great story. And I really enjoyed the read!

As far as the read itself – It’s very well put-together and it flows beautifully. I’m not sure if the “with Dana Wilkerson” means she is the one who did the writing or if it was more of a collaboration but whoever did the writing did a Great job!

It pulls you right in, moves quick and will have you laughing all the way through. The descriptions are so vivid, I can see it all unfold right in front of me and you get a very real sense from it. This is no fairy tale story that has been crafted to make life sound perfect – it’s real!

I am also thrilled to see how Candace weaves her faith into everything. Even talking about her childhood, she credits her parent’s morality as one reason for her faith. BRAVO Candace! I know a lot of people have had nasty things to say about the whole “proverbs 31 woman” thing but I am really impressed that Candace has stuck to her beliefs and her faith! It’s not easy when you’re being attacked on all sides.

Please know that you have plenty of supporters too Candace!

Well worth reading! You won’t regret it!

And the cover gets my son’s approval – which is a VERY big deal. He likes that she’s wearing a dress and that she’s covered nicely – no low cut top or too short skirt. So, GOOD JOB to the cover designer as well!

A GREAT READ!

Honest, real, and practical advice. Candace doesn't have it all together, but she shares her experiences and prayerfully shows how she balances God, life and priorities every mom can relate to.

I was raised as a Roman Catholic but am now an agnostic. I always try to avoid books with an overt message based on religious beliefs but I couldn't help picking this up when I was at Borders. Come on, it's D.J. Tanner! Anyway, I found myself pleasantly surprised with this book.

Granted, she didn't reveal any earth-shattering secrets about dieting and weight loss. Everything was pretty basic (limit your portions, self-moderation and self-control, exercise, etc.)but with a Christian point of view. Surprisingly, I wasn't offended or rolling my eyes with every scripture verse that popped up. In fact, I found it inspiring and making total sense with whatever the topic was.

It was interesting to read how she overcame her eating disorder with her faith. That probably won't work with all people. This book was refreshing, some grammatical errors here and there, but I really enjoyed it as a non Christian, former Roman Catholic, agnostic health nut.

I enjoyed this book.

I enjoyed reading about Candace's life and how she tries to balance it all.

She brings in Scripture, and just kind of tells you how it is working for her.

Even though this book is definitely centered around weight loss and healthy eating, it is so much more than that! Yes, it is Christian based and her faith makes up the core of this book, but I didn't feel that it was harassing me into believing God. Rather, using scripture Candace illuminated what God wants for all of us, how he so desperately wants us to succeed, and wants to help us every step of the way.

I picked up this book because of its diet focus but I ended up gaining way more than I anticipated because of the well-rounded focus of the book. It truly helps you reshape it ALL. I have battled with anxiety most of my life but only recently realized that I was struggling with clinical generalized anxiety disorder and this book is filled with little nuggets to inspire, keep focus, and bring comfort to those who read them. I highly recommend this book regardless what your current struggle is and keep an open mind that I would say it's more about healthy eating and attitude rather than a 'diet' as we typically think of diets.

NCLA Review - Readers will recognize television star Candace Cameron from her hit series “Full House” and as a cast member of “Make It or Break It.” She is married to a former professional hockey player, has three children and lives in Los Angeles. In addition, she has written this book and travels nationwide speaking about her Christian faith encouraging women to battle their weight issues with God by their side. This is more than a biography about her life in Hollywood and beyond. It is her inspiring story of battles with weight gain and bulimia. The book is a testimonial about being healthy in body, mind and spirit and why it is important for Christian women to be physically and spiritually fit. In this book packed with Scripture verses, words of wisdom, and recipes, Candace bluntly admits that she does not have any quick fix secrets. She is both convicting and motivating. For today’s real-life women, many of whom are seeking not only a physical transformation but a spiritual one as well, this book will be a hit. The cover is very appealing and readers will enjoy the 16- page section of Candace’s family photos. I high recommend this book for all church libraries. Rating: 4 —BJM

I was never a fan of Full House or Candace, but I really liked this book.

It's part testimony, part motivational, and part Christian teaching. We all know that being healthy is good but Bure writes very bluntly what we can do to accomplish this and why it's important for a Christian life.

She doesn't have any weight loss quick fix secret and she says so herself. It's an easy read, but one packed with inspiration. She even includes handy little sections on Scripture verses and recipes at the end of each chapter.

If you're looking for a book to help motivate you (and convict you), this is a good place to start. She's writing as a Christian working mother, who just happens to be a celebrity as well.
