After there is a Bigfoot sighting many people rush to Shula, Washington, in search of Bigfoot. There is even a cash prize if someone can prove that Bigfoot doesn’t exist. Thirty-three-year-old hero Doug Merimore definitely doesn’t believe in Bigfoot. He believes that someone is getting the town shook up, pretending to be Bigfoot. His brother is the DJ whose radio station is holding the Bigfoot contest. Doug never got on with his brother and wants to prove that Bigfoot doesn’t exist. Doug hires an Indian guide that will take him to the mountain where the guide believes Bigfoot would be hiding at. (While Doug searches for clues for a fake.) Also interested in Bigfoot is thirty-two-year-old heroine Anne Springer. She is an anthropologist who studies gibbons/apes. She joins Doug and his guide and goes into the mountains with them. Along the way, Anne and Doug don’t seem to get along. She thinks he’s cheeky, noisy, and doesn’t take anything seriously. Doug thinks Anne is dull and doesn’t like to have any fun. But along the way Anne notices Doug’s kindness. Before long, the sparks are flying!

This was such a fun read! It was quite amusing at times. The storyline sure was different for a romance. I liked both Doug and Anne. I was curious to see how this story would turn out.

A cute and enjoyable Harlequin American Romance from the 90’s.

DESCRIPTION, NOT REVIEW: Suffering from amnesia, Jane Rhodes is hitchhiking to California when she discovers she's picked the wrong truck driver and jumps from the moving 18-wheeler into a raging Wyoming blizzard.

Duncan Tate, a llama rancher, finds Jane nearly frozen and takes her to his home. His only family, old Rooney and Rooney's rambunctious granddaughter Mary Kate, nurse Jane back to health while Duncan's attentiveness captures her heart.

But when Jane's continuing amnesia threatens their future, Duncan vows to help her learn the truth, even if it destroys the life they hope to have together.… (altro)

This could have been a C grade, but several things lowered the grade significantly for me. First of all there is a conflict building which doesn't seem very realistic, but okay, it's possible. However, the hero's reaction to it is totally out of character - suddenly he behaves like a four year old. Furthermore, the hero is supposed to be very smart - we're told he went to university - but to me he comes across as stupid and/or ignorant most of the time. The names of both protagonists are over the top in view of what they represent.
Grade: D
