Bartleby the Scavenger {novella} di Katie Boyer
Compared to the original, this retelling of the Melville story in a US Southern dystopian future is pretty readable. Still the story takes a while to unwind itself, and I found myself skimming in the middle. The end, however, is excellent, and a nice reply to Melville. There's also a lot of humorous pokes at current management strategy handbooks.
