To be honest, I am not that familiar with the lady behind the "man". While presidents are important as leaders; the women behind the men are just as important. Martha was important to George.

As a fan of historical reads, I did like this book In the beginning I was invested in the story. My reading mood while reading this book was on and off. There were moments where I was really intrigued and then there were other moments where my mind could easily wander. Overall, through, I did find this a nice read. It gave me a taste of who author, Betty Bolte is as a writer. I would read another one of her books.… (altro)

Beth seems like the good girl next door, and I really wanted to like her, when I didn't want to slap her. She just doesn't appreciate everything she has going for her. For the most part she is intelligent. She just has some blind spots in chasing her dreams.

I really like her and Mitch as a couple, but each has their own reasons for not leaping into a relationship. Even when you think the way is cleared, her secret could be a deal breaker!

This clean adventure romance is nicely paced. The action moves forward and kept building my curiosity. I liked the secondary characters too.
