A very imaginative story about a perceived day in the life of Mel Blanc the voice of over 1000 characters including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Sylvester, Tweety, Barney Rubble and so many more. A charming story of love and acceptance by his parents even when teachers seem to not like his sound effects so much. This would be a fun read-aloud with 4-7-year-olds allowing them to chime along with their own sounds.

Mel Blanc's daughter-in-law wrote this book to try to portray what he was like as a child. I don't think she made him very likable. It does show that he started at a young age doing what made him famous. The "Author's Note" at the end was my favorite part.

Melvin is a child who makes a lot of different sounds using his imagination.

Even over 50 years after the California Gold Rush, "gold fever" still had its presence. Callie Miller and her family didn't realize that their riches lie in their back yard. This story will keep the reader engaged till the end.
