The second Henry Herbert novel from local author Craig Bezant continues the story begun in Bury our Secrets, which you don't have to have read, but it will help! Henry is back in the South West of Western Australia, dealing with the fallout from the arrest of most of his relatives at the end of the first book, looking for his half sister, and helping his gambling addicted brother in law, assisted by his cop friend and his level headed wife. I read the bulk of this whilst on a weekender at Busselton, and even ate and drank at places that the characters visited. It's a fun read and I'm looking forwards to the next episode of Henry's adventures.… (altro)
A fun read by a local (West Australian) author that's hard to put down. Henry Herbert, ex police, ex teacher, heads to the tourist mecca Margaret River to fulfil the final wishes of his dead uncle. Little did he know that this commission will lead to the digging up of some long buried family secrets that someone is trying very hard to suppress. This is the first of a planned four book series and the engaging and often funny writing, the evocation of place, the eccentric characters and the pacy story kept me glued to my screen.
