I would use this book as a mentor text for second grade. The book is simple enough for second graders to understand and still gives all the needed information to understand what a map is and how to use it. This book would be a good mentor text because the students can use this book to refer to when they need information about a map and the features of a map.

This book shows our current white house kids. I would love to use this book to show children that they are kids just like them. Such a cute look at the girls when they were a bit younger. This book would make an easy connection to the white house way of life for students.
